Competence Center for adult education

The Austrian Federal Institute for Adult Education (Bundesinstitut für Erwachsenenbildung – bifeb) is part of the ministry of education, art and culture and is dedicated to the principles of lifelong learning and the equal access to education. The close national and international cooperation with affiliate organisations of adult education and other research institutions ensures the professionalisation of continuing education as well as the setting of new standards in lifelong learning.

Our offers in the field of continuing education specially aim at:

The contents covered in courses, workshops and university level courses are communicated by Austrian as well as international experts. In addition new learning modes are introduced.

We closely cooperate with the Austrian Academy for Continuing Education - WeiterBildungsAkademie Österreich - which is checking and accrediting skills according to defined standards by recognition of existing qualifications.  A two-part modular curriculum based on competence profiles leads to two obtainable certificates: certified adult educator and graduate adult educator.

Seminar Center – board and lodging at the bifeb)

The bifeb) is situated right in the middle of a well-known holiday area at the shore of the popular Wolfgangsee.
In this beautiful and inspiring environment we offer rooms and infrastructure for events like meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops.
We provide 13 seminar-rooms of different sizes for organising formal meetings and/or cosy gatherings as well as the required technical infrastructure (data projector, etc.)
Accommodation in comfortable single or double rooms, a library, delicious food, cafeterias and bars as well as sauna and a boathouse ensure the well-being of our guests, our trainers and our participants.
All members of our staff do their best to guarantee a successful implementation of all events.
